Full Job Description:

Do you love Ukrainian dance, teaching and working with youth? If so, Yorkton Troyanda Dance Ensemble is looking for an enthusiastic instructor to provide Ukrainian dance instruction to children & adults starting at age 3 & up.

About Us:

Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble was registered in 1981 and has been active as a dance troupe since the 1960’s. Troyanda strives to fulfill its primary goal of providing an opportunity for our young people to express themselves through dance and to develop an appreciation for one of the most beautiful Ukrainian traditions.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide Ukrainian dance instruction to students ages 3 to adult.
• Choreograph group, duet & solo dance routines from various Ukrainian regions.
• Prepare for competition and spring show case including selecting music.
• Late afternoon and evening class instruction.
• Ability to attend weekday and weekend dance competitions through late March into early May.
• Provide monthly updates to the board executive on class choreography progress and/or any notable items needing addressing in classes or for your instruction.
• The ability to teach Ukrainian dance steps for both boys and girls is an asset.
• Provide some basic ballet training as part of class warm up and strengthening routines.

Qualifications:

• Passionate about dance.
• Creative choreographer
• Has a positive attitude.
• Has the ability to maintain good classroom control along with ability to invite learning and fun in class.
• Can teach students of varying skill level.
• Ability to communicate well with students, parents and board executive.
• Valid Criminal Record check

Compensation:

• Hourly salary based on relevant qualifications and experience
• Mileage reimbursement available.
• Training and development reimbursement available.
• Yearly performance review will be completed by Board Executive.
• Bonus pay for completing all choreography by Dec 31st.
